Welcome to COLLIERVILLE DENTAL SLEEP MEDICINE, a part of AESTHETIC DENTISTRY OF COLLIERVILLE, PLLC that provides patients diagnosed with Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) a non-surgical alternative treatment for their disruptive sleep disorder. Oral appliance therapy is a first line treatment for patients with mild to moderate OSA as well as a viable alternative for those patients who cannot tolerate traditional CPAP treatment.

After being diagnosed with moderate OSA

himself, Dr. Blanton began to research and

study this alternative dental treatment at the

request of his own personal sleep physician. This

sleep physician informed Dr. Blanton of the need

for this service for many of his own patients who

could not tolerate or were not compliant with

CPAP treatment.

In June of 2007, Dr. Blanton became only the 9th

dentist in the state of Tennessee to become a

member of the American Academy of Dental

Sleep Medicine (AADSM). The AADSM is the

equivalent in Dentistry to the American Academy

of Sleep Medicine which is the medical

organization comprised of Sleep Physicians.

Since that time he has attended many hours of advanced courses in the treatment of Obstructive Sleep Apnea with Oral Appliances. He has traveled to Minneapolis, Seattle, Tampa, Nashville and Baltimore to study with many of the most well-known Dental Sleep practitioners in the country. He is currently working towards accreditation by the Board of Dental Sleep Medicine to become only the second dentist in the state to hold Diplomate status with the AADSM.
