We recognize the fact that many of our patients do not routinely see their Primary Care Physician unless they are sick or injured, but they will see us usually twice a year for their hygiene appointments. We make it a point to use these visits to check every patient’s blood pressure and review their medical history and refer them to the necessary healthcare professional should we discover any problems. We understand that routine cleanings, flossing, sealants, and fluoride are very important factors in preventing dental disease. We focus not only on the beauty of your smile, but your overall health as well. Reviewing your medical history helps us stay informed about your medical health and any issues that may be relative to your oral health. Infection controls and universal precautions protect clients and staff alike. Everyone benefits from rigorous infection control — you, your dentist, and the dental team. We sterilize all reusable equipment, including dental hand pieces. We use an autoclave, a device that kills bacteria and viruses by steam, heat and pressure. The best defense against disease is information. The more you know, the better equipped you are to make wise decisions about your health care.
